WhenPlant's text, layout, and computed calendars are original works. The underlying data comes from public sources: the USDA 2023 Plant Hardiness Zone Map and NOAA U.S. Climate Normals are works of the U.S. Government and in the public domain; planting rules are facts drawn from named university-extension and seed-catalog publications, each cited with a link, and expressed in our own words.
